Compatible printers
yourturn.space prints tickets with the ESC/POS protocol through the Print Server, which connects to the printer over the network, at its IP and TCP port (usually 9100).
What the printer needs
- Thermal ESC/POS (almost every receipt printer is).
- A network connection: Ethernet (RJ45) or WiFi, with "RAW" printing on port 9100.
- 58 or 80 mm paper.
USB is not supported. The Print Server doesn't print over USB or through the Windows print queue. A USB-only printer won't work: pick a model with Ethernet or WiFi (most makers sell "LAN" or "WiFi" versions of the same model).
Common models
ESC/POS network models often found in shops. Any other ESC/POS thermal printer with port 9100 should work the same way.
| Model | Network connection | Paper width |
|---|---|---|
| Epson TM-T20III (Ethernet or WiFi version) | Ethernet / WiFi | 80 mm |
| Epson TM-T88VII | Ethernet / WiFi | 80 mm |
| Star TSP143III LAN / WLAN | Ethernet / WiFi | 80 mm |
| HOIN HOP-E801 | Ethernet | 80 mm |
| Xprinter XP-80C (LAN version) | Ethernet | 80 mm |
| MUNBYN ITPP941 WiFi | WiFi | 80 mm |
| Bixolon SRP-350VI | Ethernet | 80 mm |
Before buying a printer for a customer, check that the exact version has Ethernet or WiFi.
Ethernet or WiFi
Ethernet (RJ45)
Cabled to the router or a switch. The most stable option. See Ethernet connection.
WiFi
No cable, but more prone to drop-outs and IP changes. See WiFi connection.
Either way, fix the printer's IP (reservation in the router): if it changes, the Print Server can't find it.
Paper width
| Width | Typical use |
|---|---|
| 58 mm | Tight spaces, simple tickets |
| 80 mm | Recommended: room for the logo, the QR code and more information |
Set it in the panel: Printers → edit (pencil) → Paper width, along with cut type and margins.
Not supported
- USB-only printers.
- Inkjet or laser printers (not ESC/POS).
- ZPL label printers (Zebra): different protocol.
- POS printers with proprietary drivers that don't accept RAW printing on port 9100.
