SMS alerts

When a customer takes a ticket at a kiosk, you can ask for their phone number and send them an SMS the moment they're called. Useful when people wait outside the room or don't have the app or browser notifications on.

Available on the Pro, Business and Enterprise plans. Each plan includes a number of SMS per month (200, 1,000 and 5,000); the ones beyond that count as overage.

Turning it on for a kiosk

Kiosks → edit → SMS alert
  • Don't ask for a phone: the kiosk works as usual.
  • Ask for a phone (optional): the customer can type it or tap "Continue without SMS".
  • Ask for a phone (required): a ticket can't be taken without a valid phone number.

It works on physical kiosks (the number is typed on an on-screen keypad) and online kiosks (the customer types it on their phone).

What the customer gets

A single SMS when a desk calls them, in the language they took the ticket in. For example:

Clinica Sol: it's your turn. Ticket A-012 - Desk 1. Ground floor, at the back

It includes the desk name and its customer instructions (see Service desk). A re-call doesn't send another SMS: re-calls only alert through the waiting-room display and notifications.

Valid numbers

  • Spanish 9-digit numbers starting with 6, 7, 8 or 9 (no need for +34).
  • Numbers from other countries with their prefix: +44…, 0044….

Privacy

The number is only used for that alert. It's deleted as soon as the SMS is sent and, if the ticket ends without being called, in the nightly clean-up. The customer sees this notice when typing their number.
