Kiosk without printer
The customer picks their service on a touch screen at the venue and gets a digital ticket: they see it on screen and can scan a QR code to follow it on their phone. No paper and no Print Server.
When to use this topology
- You want a modern, paperless image.
- The budget doesn't include a printer.
- Space is limited (a tablet on the counter).
Installation steps
1. Create the kiosk
Kiosks → New Kiosk
- Name and Location.
- Kiosk language: the language it starts in. The customer can switch it on screen, and the kiosk goes back to it after each ticket or after a minute without use.
- Online kiosk (no hardware): off.
- SMS alert: optional, to ask for a phone and text the customer when called. See SMS alerts.
- Printer: none.
- Available services: tick the services and, for each one, whether it gives walk-in tickets, appointments or both.
2. Open the kiosk on the tablet
- Install a tablet stand on the counter.
- In the panel, Kiosks → the kiosk's copy icon ("Copy kiosk link"), and open that link in Chrome on the tablet. It carries the kiosk token (
https://yourturn.space/?kiosk=ID&token=…); without it the kiosk can't issue tickets. - Click the "Full screen" button (bottom-right corner).
- On Android, use "Screen pinning" or a kiosk app so nobody can leave the browser.
3. (Optional) Waiting display
Highly recommended even without paper. See Display on shared PC.
