Service desk

The station is the desk, counter or booth where customers are served. From it, the operator calls the next ticket, serves it and closes it. Each station serves one or more services, and its name is what the waiting-room display shows when it calls someone ("CJ-003 → Desk 1").

1. Create the station

Stations → New Station
  • Name: what the customer sees on the waiting-room display (e.g. "Desk 1", "Counter 3", "Room 101").
  • Description: for internal use.
  • Customer instructions: e.g. "Please go to counter 1, ground floor". They're shown to the customer when called, and the display reads them aloud.
  • Services to attend: the services whose tickets this station can call.

2. Open the station

Two ways, depending on who uses it:

With the operator's user

  1. In Users, create or invite the operator with the Operator role and assign the station.
  2. The operator signs in: the Dashboard shows the "Your Work Station" card with a direct link.

On a fixed tablet, without signing in

Useful when the station is always on the same device:

  1. In Stations, click "Generate link" on the station.
  2. Click the "Copy tablet link" icon and open that link on the desk's tablet or PC.

If you renew the link, the old one stops working.

3. Serving

On the station screen:

  • Call next: calls the first ticket in the queue. Priority tickets (including transferred ones) go first and, within each group, by arrival order.
  • Start attention: the customer has reached the desk; service time starts counting.
  • Call again: announces it again on the waiting-room display.
  • Complete: ends the service.
  • No show: called several times without turning up.
  • Cancel: voids the ticket (with an optional reason).
  • Postpone: sends it back to the queue for a few minutes (e.g. a document is missing).
  • Comments: internal notes on the ticket.

4. Transferring a ticket

While serving, Transfer sends the customer somewhere else without taking a new ticket. It always goes into the priority queue:

  • To a service: a new ticket is created in that service and any station serving it can call it.
  • To a station: only that station can call it.
    • If the target station serves the same service, the customer keeps their number.
    • If it's a different service, a new ticket is created in it.
    • The target station sees the notice "N ticket(s) transferred to this station".

If a station is deactivated, or the service is removed from it, the tickets transferred to it go back to the priority queue of their service so another station can call them.

Statistics

Statistics → By Station shows, per day, the tickets served at each station, completed, cancelled, no-shows, transferred and transfers received, plus average waiting and service times. They can be exported to CSV.
