Display on shared PC
Reuses an existing PC (usually the front desk or reception PC) to show called tickets on a large screen. The PC is still used by operators — the display runs in a browser tab or on a secondary monitor.
Setup options
Option A — Dedicated secondary monitor
The PC has two video outputs. One monitor is for the operator (operator panel), another monitor/TV faces the waiting room (display).
[Front desk PC] ─── Operator monitor (operator panel)
└── Waiting room TV (display in Chrome tab)
Option B — Shared screen (part-time)
The same monitor shows the display when no operator is active. Less ideal but works.
Option C — Wireless display (Miracast / Chromecast)
Connect the TV wirelessly from the reception PC:
- Windows: Use "Cast" (Win+K) to a Miracast-compatible TV or dongle.
- Chromecast: Cast the Chrome tab with the display to a TV with a Chromecast device.
Wireless options are convenient but less reliable than HDMI. Recommended only when running a cable is not possible.
Installation steps
1. Create the display in the app
Displays → New Display
- Name and Location (e.g. "Waiting room").
- Display language and Voice language (the speaker button plays a sample announcement on the computer you're configuring from).
- Voice speed: slower if the room is noisy or the speakers are far away.
- Services to show: tick the services whose tickets will appear on this display.
Save and click the "Open display public view" icon in the list: copy the address that opens (https://yourturn.space/?display=ID).
2. Open the display in Chrome
On the front desk PC, open a new Chrome window (not tab):
chrome.exe --new-window "https://yourturn.space/?display=DISPLAY_ID"
Press F11 for full screen. Drag the window to the waiting room monitor.
3. Prevent accidental closure
Use Windows Task Scheduler to auto-open Chrome with the display on login:
Action → Create basic task → At log on → Start a program
Program: C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe
Arguments: --new-window --start-fullscreen "DISPLAY_URL"
Sound: the browser won't play the chime or the voice until someone clicks the display window. On a shared PC, one click on that window each time it's opened is enough. See The display makes no sound.
Combining with a printer
If the kiosk also needs a printer, the shared PC can act as Print Server at the same time. Install it on the same PC and pair the printer. See Kiosk with printer.
